Since the Ramirez company was founded in 1882 by Jose Ramirez, the traditional knowledge of guilding high quality guitars has been handed down from father to son. Ramirez created guitars in his own personal style which still serve as a model for the construction of guitars the world over. The most important breakthroughs were accomplished by Jose Ramirez III, who created a series of decisive modificaitons to the internal structure of the guitar. At present, Jose Ramirez IV is in charge of the workshop and devotes his time to the design of these instruments in collaboration with Jose Ramirez III. Each guitar that is released from the workshop is subjected to his supervision before it reaches the hands of its future owner. This quality control is reflected in lifetime limited guarantee. Centenario

This guitar was guilt in commemoration of the first centennial of the Jose Ramirez firm, which you'll recall was founded in 1882. This is a limited production guitar, made from only the finest materials. Features of this special guitar include: A 664mm string length, red cedar top, Brazilian rosewood back and sides, Cameroon ebony fingerboard and hand-engraved bronze and ivory machine heads. (Each guitar has a different engraved design). Other standard features are the Cuban mahogany purfling, inlaid ivory headstock design, and special filleting around the soundhole. Elite

This limited production model was developed in response to customers who wanted similar features of the Centenario model, but at a more accessible price. Features of the nylon-string model include: A choice of 664mm or 650mm string length, red decar top, Brazilian rosewood (Jacaranda) back and sides, ebony fingerboard and special machine heads. Electric Acoustic Cutaway

Ramirez has reduced production to only 130 Professional Series instruments per year. They now use a French polish finish and each instrument is built to order. The United States distributor has access to 30 guitars per year and they must be ordered well in advance.
